F1 goes old school with a hint of modern

You'll all agree with me that we've had the most exciting Formula 1 season this year, right? Some of you might even argue that it's due to the fact that the rules have changed, leaving the winning up to the driver, instead of his pit stop strategy. Either way, it was epic...

Next year, we'll see even mors rule changes. This includes the banning of the F-duct system and the double diffusers, again cutting away precious downforce.

We also see the return of KERS to the cars, something I don't even want to talk about, seeing that it makes my stomach turn in disappointment.

Pirelli will provide the teams with rubber for next year. Still, I wish Bridgestone would have stayed, so we can see a tyre duel again. But I'm pretty sure Pirelli will do a fine job of supplying tyres for the teams next year.

Now, as you know, the drivers have some adjustments they can make to the car within the cockpit while driving, they can adjust the front wing and the engine throttle mapping, and of course, they could make use of the F-duct, which waves a sad goodbye...

So, most of the time, you would have seen the guys driving one-handed, seeing that they had three toys they could play with in the cockpit. Well, next year, they'll have four.

The front wing adjustments and throttle mappings will live on, then the KERS button will come in place. And then something brand new, a rear wing adjustment! This will help reduce the drag when you're sitting on the straights or in someone's slipstream.

So, now the drivers will have a car that has considerably less downforce and a boost button to overtake, as if the slipstream of the car in front or the rear wing adjustments aren't good enough to help you with the job...
